DSS Access Management
DSS can combine access control with video surveillance so that personnel, doors, credentials and security events are managed within the same operating platform. Authorised users can administer people and access rights, monitor door status, review access records and use associated video to verify events.
Access rules can be assigned to people or groups and applied across supported doors and lifts. DSS can also bring together compatible video intercom, visitor management and attendance functions, reducing the need for separate operator applications.
The current DSS generation supports a wider range of authentication technologies. In addition to cards, PINs and supported face or fingerprint credentials, DSS Professional V8.7 introduced support for compatible palm-vein recognition devices and credentials. The appropriate biometric method should always be selected according to the project requirement, applicable policy and data-protection obligations.
Integrated Access Functions
- Personnel and credential management.
- Door and lift permissions using access rules.
- Live door control and status monitoring.
- Video verification of access events.
- Visitor management and supported video intercom workflows.
- Attendance functions and reporting on supported DSS configurations.
- Integration with supported third-party access systems through Dahua bridge/API options.

One Security Workflow
Combining access events with CCTV gives operators immediate visual context. A door alarm, denied access or other event can be handled within the same environment as the associated cameras, maps and event history.
